Birdwatching

Amelia, Poppy and Lauren are wild camping in the Northumberland forest. As the woods darken around them and tensions flare, a watchful presence takes hold over the camp.

A perfect boiling pot of paranoia, superstition and adolescent insecurity ensues that hangs on a chilling question: who is watching who?

With female, queer and neurodivergent perspectives centre stage, Birdwatching is a folk horror about the female experience that doesn’t look away.

Birdwatching is a folk horror about the female experience that doesn’t look away. It aims to provoke conversations around street harassment, LGBTQIA+ issues, neurodiversity and the cultural voyeurism of female identifying/presenting people. After an award winning, critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024 the show was chosen by the Chengdu-Chongqing International Theatre Festival for their 2024 programme. The show then performed at Brighton Horror Festival and Etcetera Theatre in Camden. The newly adapted version has since performed at The Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath, and is now undertaking a Northern Tour in October/November 2025.
